Bhubaneswar: The State ST & SC Development department has started a virtual tour of the life and culture of tribal people of Odisha from August 2.
This is part of the 5T initiative of the state government to enlighten the general public on the rich cultural heritage of tribals in the state.
The virtual tour will continue up to fourteen weeks and those interested to visit the virtual museum can do so by opening the Facebook & Twitter page @scstrti/@stscdev.
The Director of SCSTRTI, Prof. Dr. A. B. Ota said the visitors can watch the life and culture of Juangs living atop Gonashika hills on August 23. He said the Juangs are known as Patua. They usually live in the valleys and hilly terrains of Keonjhar, Angul and Dhenkanal districts.
The virtual tour will take the visitors through handicrafts of Juangs who prepare handmade combs from bamboos and wood.
