Sambalpur: Odisha vigilance on Tuesday arrested Anil Kumar Beriwal, Ex-Director of Ghanteswari Flour Mill Pvt. Ltd., Sambalpur for misappropriation of government money.
Beriwal was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for misappropriation of government money over Rs 4.48 crore.
The case relates to a criminal conspiracy by four officials of Sambalpur District Cooperative Central Bank Ltd. (SDCC Bank) with M/s Ghanteswari Flour Mills Pvt. Ltd. by abusing their respective official position, showing undue official favour to M/s Ghanteswari Flour Mill Pvt. Ltd., Sambalpur in sanctioning and disbursing of
loan, and thereby causing a pecuniary loss of Rs.4,48,14,358/- to the Bank as well as to the public exchequer.
For this, all four officials of SDCC Bank with M/s Ghanteswari Flour Mills Pvt. Ltd. represented by Director Anil Kumar Beriwal were charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) PC Act,
1988/420/120-B IPC.
However, Beriwal repeatedly evaded attending the court during trial, an NBW was issued by the Special Judge Vigilance, Sambalpur on 19.11.2024 and today Beriwal was arrested and forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge Vigilance, Sambalpur.
