Kalahandi: Vedanta Lanjigarh, India’s premier producer of smelter-grade alumina and a unit of Vedanta Aluminium, has received the Platinum Award in the ‘Steel & Mining Sector’ category at the 6th ICC National Occupational Health & SafetyAwards, conferred by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This accolade is a testament to the company’s unwavering dedication towards ensuring ‘Zero Harm’ at the workplace.
The award aims to encourage businesses to foster healthier and safer occupational environments. Vedanta Lanjigarh has been at the forefront in implementing several such practices that have earned them accolades this year. These include:
- Active communication of safety policies to employees and business partners.
- Rigorous enforcement of safe working practices and implementation of safety management systems.
- Proper hazard identification and risk assessment at sites.
- Promoting safety modules like work at height, confined space, crane and lifting, electrical safety, isolation, excavation, personal protective equipment (PPE), vehicle driving and work permits, rail logistics, etc.
