Vedanta Jharsuguda supports DHA in Filariasis Elimination Awareness campaign
Jharsuguda: Vedanta, India’s largest producer of aluminium and value-added products, extended its support to the District Health Administration (DHA) in Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Awareness campaign at Jharsuguda.
The company conducted a rath yatra for Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Awareness from 9th – 13th February 2021 covering 80 villages of the district which was flagged off by Dr. Lal Mohan Routray, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), in the presence of Dr. DM Patel, Additional District Medical (ADM) and Public Health Officer (PHO), and Mr. Bulunath Sahu, District Programme Manager (DPM), National Health Mission (NHM) at District Health Headquarter, Jharsuguda.
Besides that, information materials were distributed and visual aids were put up at prominent locations across the district for greater awareness and information retention among the community. The company also ensured the administration of drugs to employees and families by implementing DHA’s Mass Drug Administration (MDA) programme at its township.

Dr. Lal Mohan Routray, Chief District Medical Officer for Jharsuguda, appreciated the company’s support in carrying out the awareness drive saying, “Rath yatra for Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Awareness was a commendable effort by Vedanta’s CSR team as it ensured community’s awareness of the disease and successful implementation of the programme.
