Boudh: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Boudh special jail here on Tuesday.
The deceased identified as Arakhita Sahu had been lodged at the jail in connection with a sexual assault case. Though the exact reason of his death was not clear, jail authorities claimed that he died due to some health related issues.
According to jail sources, Sahu fell sick all of a sudden last night. He was immediately shifted to the district headquarters hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
It is still unclear whether his condition was unwell earlier or he was taken ill suddenly.
It is pertinent to mention that some under trial prisoners had allegedly attempted to slit the throat of a fellow prisoner in the same prison which raised eyebrows on the jail security system.
