US-based organisation, led by Odia woman, contributes $68,500 to Odisha CMRF

Bhubaneswar: Our Biswas, a US-based organisation established and managed by an Odia woman, Joyasree Mahanti, has contributed USD 68,500 to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, said Additional Chief Secretary Home and General Administration & Public Grievance Sanjeev Chopra.

Transmitting the donation on line, Mahanti said, “Odisha under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik is now a lead and happening State”. Because of the timely decisions and appropriate action, Covid situation in Odisha is within control. Government has also created Covid treatment facilities in western Odisha including Bargarh. She expressed the hope that State would come out victorious in its fight against Covid with the cooperation of everybody.

It may be pertinent here to mention that “Our Biswas” has been working for women empowerment in different parts of Odisha since 2008.

Accepting the donation, GA&PG Dept ACS Sanjeev Chopra complimented the organisation for their gesture of “public good”.
