UP govt arranges 1000 buses to ferry migrant workers to hometowns


Lucknow: The UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to transport officers to make arrangements for 1000 buses for migrant labourers.

The appeal was made on late Friday night. There are reports that a large number of migrant workers have taken to roads on foot to reach their hometowns fearing coronavirus and subsequent nationwide lockdown.

News agencies have put up a heart-wrenching video of the same that was shot at Ghazipur near Delhi-UP border. The lockdown has a massive impact on lakhs of migrant workers. They have lost their livelihoods and are desperately trying to head back to their native state.
