Bhubaneswar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended a formal invitation to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. The invitation was conveyed by Labour and Employment Minister Anil Rajbhar and State Minister for Food, Logistics, and Civil Supplies Satish Chandra Sharma, who met CM Majhi at his official residence in Bhubaneswar.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, attracting millions of pilgrims from across the globe. The event is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and is celebrated with great fervor and devotion.
During the meeting, the ministers presented CM Majhi with a Shubh Kalash filled with sacred Gangajal and the event’s emblem, symbolizing the auspicious nature of the invitation. The Odisha Minister of Culture, Suryabanshi Suraj, was also present at the occasion.
The Uttar Pradesh government has been making extensive preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela, ensuring the safety and convenience of an estimated 45 crore devotees. This year’s event will see enhanced security measures, including AI-powered cameras and high-tech jet skis for water police, to manage the massive crowds and ensure a smooth and secure experience for all attendees.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s invitation to his Odisha counterpart underscores the spirit of unity and shared cultural heritage that the Maha Kumbh Mela embodies. It is expected that CM Majhi’s participation will further strengthen the bonds between the two states and promote the rich cultural tapestry of India.
