New Delhi: As per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) latest announcement, a slew of relaxations amid the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown began today.
Instead of calling it an extension of the lockdown, the government has termed it as ‘Unlock 1’, as it focuses on reopening of economic activities.
‘Unlock 1’ commences from today, i.e. June 1, in view of the freshly issued guidelines.
To boost the limping economy, the curfew timing has been changed and it will now be in force from 9 pm to 5 am. Earlier, it was being enforced from 7 pm to 7 am. Essential services have been exempted during the curfew.
Malls, hotels, restaurants, and religious places will reopen from June 8. Containment zones, however, will be under lockdown till June 30.
