Cuttack: In a bid to provide instant and fast medical services to the people of Cuttack, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday flagged off ‘Hospital on Wheels’ at Athgarh.
The former bureaucrat turned politician, Vaishaw launched the service from the premises of Gopabandhu Institute of Medical Science and Research School (GIMSAR) at Madhapur and the unit will have a doctor and a nurse along with modern medical facilities.
“Through this doctors and specialists can visit the remote areas of Badamba, Narsinghpur, and Athgarh and serve the people. It has been developed with an investment of Rs 37 lakhs. It will be implemented in other places if the experiment is successful,” said Vaishnaw in a public gathering.
Notably, the ‘Hospital on Wheels’ is a full-fledged mobile hospital with all facilities for doctors, nurses, and patients.
