ULFA abducts 3 ONGC employees in Assam: Sources
Guwahati: Three ONGC employees have been abducted by ULFA in Assam, according to sources. They were kidnapped from a rig site in Lakwa field of Assam’s Sivasagar district.
The company said in a statement by that “3 ONGC employees, 2 Junior Engineer Assistants (Production) & a Junior Technician (Production) ” have been abducted by unknown armed miscreants in the early hours of April 21.
ONGC is India’s biggest oil and gas exploration and production company. It has been exploring and producing oil and gas in upper Assam.
The three employees are MM Gogoi, Ritul Saikia and Alakesh Saikia.
Top officials of ONGC have rushed to the site to take stock of the situation. The local administration has been informed about the incident and ONGC is in constant touch with the higher authorities.
