Bhubaneswar: A man with UK travel history was admitted to a government Covid hospital in Bhubaneswar after being tested positive for coronavirus.
Reportedly, the 34-year-old male, a resident of Sailashreebihar, reached Bhubaneswar from the UK on December 18 and underwent test at a private lab. Later, his samples were found to be positive for Covid.
The man has mild flu-like symptoms and contact tracing has already been completed.
On the other hand, test on Spike Genome Sequencing is being done through RMRC to ascertain the Covid strain.
Odisha government made 14-day home isolation mandatory for persons with the UK travel history in the last 14 days. Samples of such persons will be sent for genome sequencing.
Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for all the airlines. The carriers have been asked to inform the airport authorities about the passengers returning from the UK.
