Two Sarpanchs Suspended For Corruption, BDO For Violating PMAY Guidelines


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today suspended a Block Development Officer (BDO) for violating PMAY guidelines and two Sarpanchs for embezzling funds, informed Panchayati Raj minister Pratap Jena.

According to reports, Rabindra Satpathy, BDO of Harabhanga in Boudh district, has been suspended for not following the guidelines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and encouraging corruption.

Similarly, Abhimanyu Jena, Sarpanch of Kedarpur GP under Soro Block in Balasore district, and Ushanta Sahu, Sarpanch of Ankroda GP under Digapahandi block in Ganjam district have been suspended.

“While Ushanta has been suspended for accumulating disproportionate assets to his known source of income, Abhimanyu suspended for embezzling funds,” minister Jena further informed.
