Berhampur: Two pythons- one 11-ft-long & another 7-ft-long- were rescued by the snake helpline members from an earthmover in Palligumula village on the outskirts of Berhampur town yesterday night.
While the vehicle was engaged in digging a drain to extract water, for the beautification of a new dam, the driver spotted two huge snakes coming out from the pipes. Though the driver managed to rescue the 7-ft-long python, the 11-ft-python entered into the engine of the vehicle.
Following this, the workers informed the snake helpline.
On intimation, the snake helpline members reached the spot and the rescued python was handed over to them. The 11-foot python was rescued after three hours of ordeal.
