Two notorious terrorists killed in encounter in J&K’s Anantnag district

Srinagar: Two unidentified terrorists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces that is underway in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police and security forces are involved in the operations. “Search operation underway… Further details shall follow,” said Kashmir Zone Police.

“In an encounter at Waghama Bijbehara, two terrorists who killed a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and a 5-year-old boy three days back at Bijbehara, have been eliminated,” Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said on Tuesday.

The fresh operation comes just a day after the security forces neutralised three terrorists in Doda. The district was declared militant-free after Masood, a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander was killed in the operation.

Security forces have stepped up operations and killed more than 100 terrorists this year. A total of 46 terrorists have been killed in June.
