Srinagar: At least two terrorists, linked with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), were killed in an encounter in the Bandipora area on Sunday.

The two neutralized terrorists have been identified as Azad and Abid, said a senior police officer.

According to reports, Azad, who was involved in the killing of BJP leader Waseem Bari, is a locally trained terrorist while Abid is a Pakistan-trained terrorist.

Acting on reliable inputs about the presence of terrorists, security forces cordoned off the area and asked them to surrender, but they refused to do so. Later in the gunfight, the terrorists were neutralized.

Earlier, Kashmir zone police said incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.
