Two held for stealing from locked industrial unit in Jharsuguda


Jharsuguda: Two persons were arrested by police on charges of stealing from a locked steel products industry at Kukurjangha area of Jharsuguda district today.

The accused persons have been identified as Antaram Budula of Chandrapur and Alekha Bigantia of Badamal Colonypada in the district.

According to the reports, some security guards of the Concast Steel and Power Limited lodged a complaint alleging that some unknown miscreants had stolen 10 boxes full of cast-iron from the industry.

Acting on the complaint, the police launched a probe and nabbed the duo. During the interrogation, the accused persons confessed to have stolen the iron boxes from the industrial unit when it was locked.

The cops registered a case (140/19) against the accused persons and they were sent to judicial custody by a local court after their bail plea was rejected. Further investigation is on to identify involvement of the other persons if any, sources said.
