Gunupur: Two persons were arrested for allegedly cultivating cannabis and encouraging the illegal act at Gunupur in Rayagada district today.
The accused persons were identified as Hedu Majhi, a residence of Hita panga, and Jugal Majhi a tribal leader from Tabalguda village.
Based on a tip-off, Padmapur police raided the farm and arrested the duo in this connection.
A case (122/20) has been registered under relevant sections of IPC. The accused persons were forwarded to the court, police said.
