Two govt officials in Malkangiri, Bargarh land in Vig net over various allegations
Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths proved to be in an “action mode” as they conducted raids in Malkangiri district and Bargarh districts involving two government officials.
According to available information, one Geetanjali Swain, ICDS Supervisor posted in Malkangiri district was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance Koraput Division while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 4,500 from complainant Gayatri Naik of Kandikiguda village. The accused demanded for the gratification from the Anganwadi Worker for passing a bill in favour of the complainant and three other Anganwadi workers for service of hot cooked meals in their centre and purchase of uniform.
On the other hand, another official, identified as Fakir Karna, Ex-Agriculture overseer, Chakuli Farm in Bargarh district landed in the vigilance net over the allegation of acquisition and possession of Disproportionate Assets.
Acting upon a complaint, a team of anti-corruption bureau officials conducted simultaneous raids at four places including his residential quarter inside Chakuli Farm, Building at Bhutatikira village, GNM, ANM & Bsc Nursing Training centres at Sankara, Sundargarh Town and rented residential building at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
The exact amount of disproportionate assets possessed by the accused officer will be ascertained after completion of the search, sources informed.
