Malkangiri: Two persons arrested on charges of peddling ganja escaped the police custody during a medical checkup in Malkangiri on Friday.
According to reports, police had arrested the two accused on Wednesday while smuggling ganja and brought them to Kalimela hospital for a health check-up before being produced before the court.
Meanwhile, the duo managed to give the cops a slip.
An investigation is underway to nab the accused, said the police.
