Two elderly persons hurt in boar attack in Jharsuguda village


Jharsuguda: At least two elderly persons were injured after being attacked by a wild boar in Luhabaga village under Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district today.

The injured duo has been identified as Ukia Pradhan (67) and Lakhpati Bhoi (60).

According to sources, Pradhan and Bhoi were out of their houses this morning when they came across the wild boar which suddenly attacked them.

While the duo sustained grievous injuries, the villagers rescued them and took them to a hospital in Chhattisgarh for treatment.

Following this, locals have demanded immediate steps by the forest department in order to keep wild boars at bay, sources said.
