Bhubaneswar: Utkal University in association with the Institute of Media Studies (IMS), Bhubaneswar is organising a two-day UTSAV ODISHA, a Festival on Culture and National Integration from March 6 to 7 at MKCG Auditorium on the university campus.
The festival aims at promoting the rich cultural heritage of Odisha and its role in national integration. It will also celebrate the lives of unsung heroes of Odisha in the Indian freedom struggle. The festival will have two plenary sessions where historians, researchers, academicians and experts will share their thoughts and ideas on contemporary issues relating to Odisha.
Eminent Writer & Author Haraprasad Das will inaugurate the festival as chief guest in the August presence of retired IAS officer and former additional chief secretary of Odia Language Literature & Culture Department Madhusudan Padhi, Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University Prof. Sabita Acharya, Senior Consultant to Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India Prof. Nishamani Kar and noted writer and Special Secretary of Public Enterprises (PE) Department Nihar Ranjan Dash.
The first plenary session, chaired by Vice-Chairman of Odisha State Higher Education Council Prof. Ashok Das will focus on ‘NEP: A Tool to Ensure National Integration’. Chairperson of PG Council, Utkal University Prof. Navaneeta Rath, retired IPS officer and president of Alumni Association, Utkal University Satyajeet Mohanty, Special Secretary of OLL&C department Madhusudan Dash and Prof. Niranjan Padhi will grace the session as distinguished speakers.
The second day will witness another plenary session on ‘Resurgence of Odia Language, Literature & Culture followed by the closing ceremony. Eminent Writer and Author Prof. Dash Benhur, Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University of Culture Prof. Prasanna Kumar Swain, Special Secretary of PE Department and noted writer Nihar Ranjan Dash, Director of Students’ Welfare, Utkal University Prof. Mitali Chinara, Eminent Journalist and Writer Kedar Mishra and Eminent Writer and Author and Subhashree Lenka will share their thoughts in the second plenary session.
In the closing ceremony, Eminent Writer, Author and Academician Prof. Shantanu Acharya, Vice Chancellor of Maa Manikeswari University, Kalahandi Prof. Sanjaya Satpathy, Founder Secretary of CYSD Jagadananda, Registrar of Utkal University Dr. Kahnu Charan Dhir and Senior journalist Rabi Das will grace the occasion.
