Two CRPF jawans Injured in Naxal attack In Chhattisgarh


Bijapur (Chhattisgarh): In a fresh spell of Maoist attack, two CRPF personnel were injured following a gun battle with the Naxals in a forest area here. The CRPF personnel were on patrol when Maoists opened fire on them. The attack occurred around 12.20 p.m.

The attack has occurred at a time when the first phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls is underway. Sources said Bijapur and other seats in the Maoist-affected region and added the attack is sixth in 17 days in the state.

In Monday morning, soon after polls began, Naxals exploded IED in Dantewada  and the patrol team had a close shave.

Two jawans from CoBRA unit suffered injuries; sources said and added they have been shifted to hospital.
