Two Critical In Animal Attacks In Odisha

Balasore/ Dhenkanal: At least two persons including a woman sustained critical injuries in attack by wild animals in Balasore and Dhenkanal district on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a youth identified as Ramesh Mallik sustained injuries after two sloth bears mauled him last night at Juriapatana village near Nilagiri in Balasore district.

However, he was rescued and rushed to Nilagiri Community Health Centre (CHC).

In a separate incident, a woman was critically injured after a wild elephant trampled her in Muktapasi area under Kamakhyanagar forest range in Dhenkanal district.

The victim has been identified as Renu Sethy.

According to reports, Renu was collecting mangoes from her orchard when she came across a wild jumbo. The pachyderm then trampled her.

Locals rescued and shifted her to Kamakhyanagar sub-divisional hospital.

She is currently undergoing treatment at the medical. Her condition is stated to be critical, reports said.
