Jajpur: Two minor brothers drowned while taking bath in Kharasrota river near Chintapalli under Rasulpur block in Jajpur district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Dinabandhu and Dibakar of Chintapalli village.
According to sources, the siblings, aged 18 and 16, had gone to the water body to take a bath. However, the duo slipped into the deep water and drowned. Meanwhile, some villagers who were present nearby the river managed to rescue Dibakara and rushed him to the district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
Later, fire brigade officials reached the spot and fished out the body of Dinabandhu, said sources.
