Two Bikes Collide Head-On In Ganjam’s Hinjili; Four Critically Hurt

Hinjilicut: Four people were critically injured after two motorcycles collided head-on near Nuaburupoda Chhak under Hinjili police station limits in Ganjam district on Sunday afternoon.

The injured identified as Pitambar Khatua, 41, Bulu Jena, 27, and Ashok Patra, 35, both of Gobindpur village in Shergarh police station, were en route to Hinjilicut on a motorcycle, when they dashed into the motorcycle of Sumadhu Das, 32, of Hinjili village, who was on his way to Shyamalai.

The collision was so intense that the vehicles got mangled and the four persons suffered serious injuries, sources said.

Some locals rescued the injured and rushed them to Hinjilicut Sub-Divisional Hospital in a 108 ambulance. Later, Pitambar and Bulu were shifted to Berhampur MKCG Hospital as their health condition deteriorated.

Upon receiving the news, Hinjili police arrived at the scene and seized both the bikes involved in the accident.
