New Delhi: As the Indian cricket team is drawing flak for poor performance in the Test series against England, there is growing demands for ouster of head coach Ravi Shastri.
India were thumped by an innings and 159 runs by a formidable English bowling in the second Test after they fell 31 runs short of victory in the first match at Edgbaston.
While questions are being raised at Virat Kohli’s captaincy, fans on the social media criticised head coach Ravi Shastri for Lord’s test debacle. There is strong demand among fans for roping in former Indian captain and currently U-19 and A team coach Rahul Dravid as the new head coach of the national team.
Twitter was abuzz with a demand that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sacks Ravi Shastri and appoints batting legend Rahul Dravid as the new coach. He had done well in England both as a captain and a batsman.
Dravid is only the third Indian captain to win a Test series on English soil in the history, after Ajit Wadekar in 1971 and Kapil Dev in 1986. Dravid led India to a win in the three-Test series in 2007.
Dravid’s away record on England soil is quite impressive. He has played 13 Tests against England in England and scored 1376 runs at an average of 68.80. He has scored six centuries while playing in England.
These are changes required for the team to succeed.
1. Sack Chamcha Ravi Shastri and Bring Rahul Dravid as coach.
2. Fitness alone can’t win you matches. Need to play more warm up matches or county cricket.
3. Dhawan, Vijay & Rahane career over. Pant, Iyer, Nair are the future.

#India‘s batting is struggling and at 2-0 down, there’s just one person who can help the team get to grips with the conditions and instil in them the temperament needed to thrive there. India needs Rahul Dravid, once again. This time, as a batting consultant. #INDvENG #AakashVani pic.twitter.com/30ddq7DvpQ
