New York: Twitter may soon roll out paid verification for its users. Elon Musk, who took over the social media platform last week, has asked employees to roll out by November 7 a $19.99 monthly subscription pack for Twitter Blue.

Currently, Twitter Blue can be availed at $4.99 per month and provides additional features like ad-free articles and a home screen icon that has a different colour.

For a $19.99 subscription, Twitter may also offer paid verification. This would be the first time when the users would be able to actually purchase the “Blue Tick”. Musk, on Sunday, tweeted that the company is “revamping” the current verification process.

Twitter Blue was introduced last year and it is an opt-in, paid monthly subscription that offers exclusive access to premium features. Twitter claims this will let you customize your Twitter experience. The subscription service has been launched in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It is to be seen how Musk plans to both roll out this service globally while changing the entire payment structure. In the eligible regions, Twitter Blue is available for in-app purchase on Twitter for iOS and Android.

Elon Musk has also registered his displeasure with the company’s management system. In response to a tweet, Musk claimed that the messiest thing at Twitter is that for every coder there are 10 managers. He himself was looped into a mailing system asking him to attend ‘Managing @Twitter 101’.
