Truck Carrying Onions Plunges Into Gorge In Bangiriposhi, Two Killed

Bangiriposhi: Two people were killed when their vehicle fell into a 100-feet gorge near Bangiriposhi ghat on NH-49 Mayurbhanj’s Baripada on Wednesday wee hour. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, the mishap took place when the truck was en-route to Kolkata from Nasik carrying onions.

The driver of the truck lost control over the wheels causing the vehicle to skid off the road and fall from a height of around 100-ft-deep gorge. While two people died on the spot, one sustained critical injuries, sources said.

Bangiriposi Police along with a fire brigade team rushed to the spot and rescued the deceased and injured from the mangled truck.

The injured is reportedly undergoing treatment at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital at Baripada. Further investigation into the matter is underway, sources added.
