Train ticket fraud nabbed from city railway station
Bhubaneswar: Two train ticket frauds have been arrested from city railway station in the last two days on charges of duping people on promise of getting them confirmed tickets.
In one such incident on December 2 last week Sunit Moharana and his mother Rajakumari of Buguda, Ganjam had been cheated of Rs 2400 by one named Prasanta Rout of Aul Kendrapra on promise of getting them confirmed booked tickets to Chennai. Unfortunately Prasanta happened to come across them again on Thursday at the railway station as they complained about their case to police.
Cops nabbed the fraudster and seized filled up railway forms, mobiles, ID proofs of other people and forwarded him to court.
In another such incident a person in guise of CISF has been arrested after he tried to fool the complainant Kalandi Pradhan and cheated Rs 2850 from him. Showing a CISF logo money purse and ID card the accused named Ratikant Dixit of Bhadrak cheated Pradhan on promise that he would get a confirmed ticket to of Konark express.
After information from the complainant police arrested Ratikant and seized mobiles, purse, reservation forms from him and forwarded him to court.
