Noida: A catastrophic fire swept through a slum in Sector 8 of Noida on Wednesday morning, leading to the heartbreaking loss of three young girls who perished in the blaze.
The calamity also inflicted severe injuries on the parents, leaving the father in a critical state.
Police reports state that the three girls, Aastha (10), Naina (7), and Aaradhya (5), were asleep in their hut with their parents when the fire erupted. The children were on the bed, and the parents were on the floor. The fire rapidly intensified, consuming the hut in flames. Despite the parents’ desperate attempts, the children could not be saved.
The remains of the girls have been taken for autopsy. The parents, especially the father, Daulat Ram (32), suffered grave burns and was rushed to Noida District Hospital. Given the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where he is reported to be in a grave condition.
The fire destroyed everything in the hut, leaving the family in ruins and without belongings. The authorities are probing the cause of the fire and are committed to providing the necessary aid to the family during this harrowing period.
This sorrowful event sheds light on the dangerous living conditions in slums and emphasizes the critical need for enhanced safety protocols and infrastructure to avert such tragedies in the future.
