Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has released an advisory regarding public movement and traffic restrictions due to the all-India DG and IGP conference at the Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhavan, from November 29 to December 1.
The event, which will see attendance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other notable figures, has prompted these measures to ensure the safety of VIPs and VVIPs and to facilitate a smooth traffic flow. Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh has advised the public to pre-plan their travel to circumvent congestion in the affected areas. A prohibition on vehicle movement on the roads, including connecting lanes and by-lanes, will be enforced during the specified dates and times.
Vehicle movement will be restricted on the route from Airport Residential Chhak to T Junction (Pani Tanki Chhak), including its connecting lanes and bylanes, during specified hours on November 28 and 29.
These restrictions are enforced under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulations, 2008.
Citizens are urged by the Commissionerate Police to cooperate by using alternative routes during this time. To manage traffic and ensure the public’s convenience, additional personnel will be deployed throughout the high-security event.
