TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, continues to demonstrate its commitment to corporate social responsibility through impactful and inclusive initiatives. Alongside its mission of delivering reliable and quality power, TPNODL is touching lives across remote and underserved communities through its Mobile Health Care Units and skill development programs.

In a significant step towards accessible rural healthcare, TPNODL has deployed Mobile Health Care Units in each of its five operational districts—Balasore, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj. These mobile clinics have reached over 2,74,000 individuals, providing them with essential health services and medicines completely free of cost. So far, 1,495 health camps have been successfully organized.

“Our Mobile Health Care Units are operating in collaboration with Sarpanch of local panchayats, ensuring people in the most inaccessible locations receive timely medical attention. Each unit is equipped with a dedicated team comprising a doctor, pharmacist, ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) and a driver. These ambulances travel to remote and tribal regions, conducting health check-ups and raising awareness about preventive healthcare practices’’ said Mr. Dwijadas Basak, CEO of TPNODL. “

Beyond healthcare, TPNODL’s CSR initiatives also focus on empowering youth and womenthrough vocational training and education. The company runs Vocational Training Centres(VTCs) that offer skill development programs designed to make youth self-reliant. Many graduates from these programs have secured employment in multinational companies, marking a transformative change in their livelihoods.

Women empowerment remains a core pillar of TPNODL’s efforts. Through tailored training in tailoring and beautician courses, women from various Self Help Groups (SHGs) are being equipped with marketable skills to achieve financial independence.

TPNODL’s holistic approach to social development reaffirms its commitment to inclusive growth, making a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands across Northern Odisha.
