TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), a collaboration between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, is geared up to ensure uninterrupted power supply amidst this summer’s challenges.
As Northern Odisha’s energy demand is expected to peak at 1500 megawatts, a notable increase from last year’s 1393 megawatts, the company has implemented robust strategies to address heatwaves and Norwester (Kalbaishakhi) storms.
To meet the surge in demand, TPNODL has deployed over 7,000 Business Associate (BA) employees for maintenance of power infrastructure under Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs). Dedicated resources, including additional vehicles and backup DG sets, are in place to swiftly handle emergencies. Substations have undergone preventive maintenance, and operational control rooms at Balasore, Circle, and division levels ensure seamless management during critical situations.
The company has prioritized uninterrupted power supply for district headquarters hospitals and community health centers while coordinating with Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) for emergency responses. TPNODL remains committed to promptly restoring services affected by Norwester storms, with more than 7,000 ground workers on standby to mitigate power disruptions.
Reaffirming its dedication to operational efficiency, safety, and community welfare, TPNODL continues to improve infrastructure and expand organizational capacity. Through its proactive efforts, the company aims to meet growing energy demands while supporting Northern Odisha’s resilience and development.
