Bhubaneswar: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), the joint venture between Tata Power and Odisha Government for power distribution in Central Odisha region, has issued an advisory for its consumers against the unscrupulous elements, who are misleading people with messages to update their KYC to avoid disconnection of electricity supply.

With malicious intent, these individuals are engaging with customers without any authorisation of TPCODL. Such messages threaten the consumers stating that their power supply will be disconnected at 9.30 pm on the same day as they have not updated their KYC and advising them to contact the electricity officer at certain phone numbers which are different from TPCODL’s dedicated customer care numbers.

TPCODL urges customers to take all precautions before responding to any such messages/calls. The company never asks any customer to share any password, OTP or any other personal details with any Executive. The company has urged customers to use TPCODL Mitra App to verify the credibility of their employees.

TPCODL has dedicated 24X7 Toll-Free Number 1800-345-7122 / 1912 as a one-point solution for all the grievances. The company urges all its customers to immediately report any such message/call by any individual asking for transaction or banking details. Customers can also e-mail customercare@tpcentralodisha.com for any queries.

“While our team is keeping a close watch on such fraudulent activities, we intend to alert our esteemed customers as well. We request our customers to use the TPCODL Mitra App and follow authorised channels/gateways to reach out to us for any grievances or queries,” said Mr Shenbagam, Chief Executive Officer, TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd.
