Cuttack: An employee of TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has been arrested for allegedly faking robbery in Cuttack.
The arrestee has been identified as Shibashish Singh.
According to police, Shibashish had alleged that some miscreants looted Rs 1.7 lakh from him at gunpoint while he was on his way to the office. The amount was collected from people as electricity dues.
Following the incident, police had initiated an investigation into the matter and they found that Singh himself had framed the whole conspiracy and cooked the robbery story.
The cops arrested the accused and recovered Rs 1.7 lakh cash from his possession. Further investigation is underway in this connection.
