Top JeM commander killed in encounter in J&K’s Pulwama
Srinagar: A top commander of the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror outfit was on Sunday killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday.
The JeM commander was identified as Adnan was a Pakistan origin millitant.
Police said, a security force sustained bullet injuries and a civilian identified as Manzoor Dar from Tral, sustained injuries in the cross-firing.
The encounter took place in Dar Ganie Gund, village of Aribal area of Tral in south Kashmir district on Sunday morning after security forces acting on reliable inputs about the presence of militants in the area launched a cordon and search operation.
The gun-battle broke out after the hiding militants fired on the security forces leading to death of the militant in retaliation.
Huge quantity of arms, ammunition and incriminating material was recovered from the spot, an official informed.
