Tokyo: India’s Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav on Saturday registered a come-from-behind 5-3 win against Chinese Taipei’s Chih-Chun Tang and Chia-En to reach the quarter-finals of the Mixed Archery Event in the Tokyo Olympics.
India’s Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav were the first archers to take part in the Mixed Team Event at the Olympics. This is the first time it has been introduced at the Games and the Indian duo won it.
This was the first time that Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav were competing together. The mixed teams are ranked by the combined totals of the highest-scoring male archer and the highest-scoring female archer from a single country, with a maximum score of 1440 points available.
