Tillotama Shome bags best actress award at Brussels Int’l Film Fest
Mumbai: Actress Tillotama Shome bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in Rohena Gera’s “Sir” at the Brussels International Film Festival.
Tillotama took to her social media account to express her gratitude and excitement on receiving the honour. The actress, in an interview, also thanked Rohena for providing with the character of Ratna.
“The film was unanimously appreciated by all the members of the jury for the performance of its actors and for its direction,” stated Matthieu Van Lierde, the festival’s Artistic Director.
Tillotama, plays the character of Ratna in the film. The movie also stars Vivek Gomber named as Ashwin.
In the movie, Ratna (Tillotama Shome) become a widow at 19, when her husband die two months after their arranged marriage, goes to Mumbai to work in the affluent household of Ashwin (Vivek Gomber).
The film traces the “unlikely romance” between the two.
Divya Seth Shah, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Bhagyashree Pandit, Anupriya Goenka, and Bachan Pachera also play important roles in the movie.
Sir marked screenwriter Gera’s directorial debut. It won the Gan Foundation Award, which financially supports film distribution in France.
