Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Earth-Sciences is planning to set up a ‘Thunderstorm Research Testbed’ in Balasore district.
It will be first of its kind research centre in India.
As per sources, as per the decision of the Ministry of Earth-Science – India Meteorological Department (IMD) is slated to start the project in coordination with the Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) soon.
Moreover, IMD aims zero casualties in North Odisha after the proposed research centres set to work.
The technology will foretell accurate information on thunder and nor’wester. Basing this, people can be alerted against the subsequent consequences.
