Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Wednesday issued thunderstorm and lightning alert in several districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
The IMD Regional Centre has issued yellow warning for 10 districts which are Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Anugul, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal and Rayagada.
The meteorological office said wind speed is expected to reach 30 to 40 kmph were during the thunderstorm.
Besides, heavy rains are likely to occur at one or two places in Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Balasore districts of the state in the next 24 hours. A yellow warning has also been issued to the districts.
