Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre has issued thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds alert for 11 districts of Odisha.
The alert has been sounded for Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Raygada, Koraput, Ganjam and Gajapati.
According to IMD, light to moderate thunderstorm with wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph, lightning and light to moderate rain will occur in these parts of districts between 12.15 pm and 3.15 pm.
Following this, the IMD has advised people in these districts to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places.
