Three Youths Held For Stealing From IPS officer’s House in Bhubaneswar


Bhubaneswar: Three youths have been arrested from the Station Bazaar area in Bhubaneswar for their alleged involvement in theft from the quarter of IPS officer, Satyajit Nayak.

Sources said the Capital Police Station personnel have seized household articles, including LPG cylinders and a laptop from the possession of the accused trio.

According to police officials, the accused youths, identified as Biju Nayak (21), Santosh Nayak (23), and Deepak Nayak (20) all residents of Kedarpalli in Bapuji Nagar, are involved in several thefts in and around the city during the lockdown period.

They are being further interrogated to ascertain further details, the police official added.

On May 23, miscreants had allegedly entered the vacant quarter of the IPS officer at Sishu Bhawan Square and decamped with household articles. Nayak, a 2008-batch IPS officer is currently under central deputation and is SP of National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Following the theft from the IPS officer’s residence, the City Police initiated an investigation and rounded up the suspect trio.
