Telkoi: In a tragic incident, three women including one along with her daughter-in-law were electrocuted to death in a forest here in Keonjhar district on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Niradhi Juanga (45) Kathi Juanga (62) and Manjari Juanga of Tangiri village under Bimala panchayat in the district.
According to reports, the women were grazing their goats at a nearby forest where two persons of the same village namely Kumuda and Kubera Naik cultivated vegetables on a small field. They got electricity connection to the field illegally.
The electric live wire was snapped last night. The goat rearers came in contact with the live wire and got electrocuted. A goat was also killed due to electrocution.
Locals alleged that lackadaisical approach of the electricity department claimed three innocent lives.
