Three wagons of freight train derail in Odisha


Cuttack: Three wagons of a freight train skidded off the track near Sikharpur level crossing in Odisha today.

According to reports, a cement-laden goods train from Jharsuguda was on its way to Cuttack when three wagons of were derailed near Sikharpur level crossing in Cuttack district.

Following which, movement of trains on the up link was affected for long.

The incident occurred at around 11:50 am.

East Coast Railway officials swung into action immediately and efforts were on to clear the track.

As per railway sources, accident Relief Train were dispatched from Khurda road for relief work of the derailed wagon, an official informed.

As the modernisation work is going on at Cuttack Station, the goods train was allowed for experiment. Train services will not be hampered except only 2 or 3 trains will run few minutes delay, added railway sources.
