Three killed in two separate accidents


Athagarh/Balasore: Three persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Cuttack and Balasore districts in the state on Monday.

One incident is reported from Banakhandi on Athagarh-Mundali road in Cuttack where a student of  Revenshaw University died while returning from home to the varsity.

The deceased was identified as Rashes Das, a 1st year Computer Science student.

According to sources, Rashes on the occasion of Rakhshsa bandhan had gone to his home yesterday. While returning, his bike collided head-on with a car near Banakhandi.

Fire service personnel rescued and rushed him to Athagarh hospital in critical condition where he was declared brought dead on arrival. The Wagon R car fled from the spot soon after the accident.

In another accident, two persons died after the bike on which they were travelling skidded off the road at Paganai under Sadar police limits in Balasore district.

The deceased were identified as Sudarshan Hembram (24) of Chandipur area and his brother-in-law Kaya (30) of Paganai village.

The incident occurred in the morning when the bike on which Sudarshan and Kaya were travelling skidded off the road and fell down from the bridge leading to death of the two on the spot.

On being informed, police and fire personnel reached the spot and seized the bodies.
