Three hurt in separate road mishaps in Balasore


Balasore: At least three persons sustained critical injuries in two separate road mishaps in Balasore district on Saturday.

In the first instance, two persons received injuries after a speeding truck dashed into a dumper stationed on NH-60 near Dandika Chhak under Jaleswar police limits today.

The driver and the helper of the speeding truck were injured in the mishap.

Both were rescued and initially admitted to Jaleswar hospital. Later, they were shifted to the Government headquarters hospital (DHH) after their condition deteriorated.

In the second mishap, the driver of an ambulance met with an accident near Ambudiha Chhak on Nilagiri-Seragada road in the district.

According to sources, the driver, after dropping a patient, was returning when he lost balance. Following which, the vehicle skidded off the road and rammed into a roadside tree. The driver was rescued and admitted to the DHH here.
