Three held for youth’s murder near railway tracks in Jharsuguda


Jharsuguda: Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a youth whose body was found dumped near the railway tracks between the Kechhobahal-Malidihi route.

The arrested were identified as Aman Munda (38) of Brajrajnagar, Arjun Khadia (23) of Goudamal and Chiburu Khadia (33) of Jampada. A case (161/19) was registered by the Railway Police in the regard and the accused were forwarded to the court today.

However, the court rejected their bail plea and the accused trio was sent to judicial custody, the police said.

According to police reports, the body of a youth identified as Ajit Kumar Bakshi, a resident of Brajrajnagar, was recovered from near the railway tracks between Kechhobahal-Malidihi route on December 10, 2019.

Earlier, it was assumed to be a mishap and a case of unnatural death was registered in this regard. However, after the post-mortem report confirmed that the youth was murder and it was not an accident, police registered a murder case and initiated a probe. After a detailed investigation, police managed to crack the case and nabbed three persons for their alleged involvement in the murder.
