Three Arrested For Murder In Sambalpur Town

Sambalpur: Police today arrested three persons in connection with a sensational murder case under Town police station limits in Sambalpur district.

The arrested accused persons were identified as Dilu Behera (29), Sagar Karmakar (24), Dinesh Nepak (26), from the same locality.

Reportedly, the incident took place on December 13th while one, Bhimsen Guru, was sitting inside a Tea stall near Sanjivani Nursing home. Meanwhile, the accused persons reached the spot and attacked Guru with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot leaving Guru in a pool of blood.

He was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Sambalpur. However, doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.

On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the body to VIMSAR, Burla for post-mortem. A case (495/20) was registered under relevant sections of IPC. Later, a special team was formed to nab the absconding culprits.

Today, the absconding culprits were apprehended by the Town police. The cops have also seized a sharp weapon used in the murder. “They will be forwarded to the court. Steps are being taken to bring the accused persons on police remand for further investigation,” officials said.

The case is being given topmost priority. A totally forensic and scientific investigation is being done and after completion of the investigation and evidence gathering, a charge sheet will be submitted as early as possible. All-out efforts will be made by Sambalpur police to ensure conviction in this case, police said in a press meet.
