Third COVID-19 positive patient came in contact with Odisha Legislative Assembly staffer: Reports

Bhubaneswar: As the detection of the third coronavirus positive case in Odisha has sparked panic, a staffer of the State Legislative Assembly has reportedly come in contact with the patient.

This was informed by Speaker SN Patro today.

Following this, all the staffers will be quarantined and the entire Odisha Assembly building will be disinfected.

Odisha Assembly will now be functioning from Lok Seva Bhawan’s conference hall with 30% attendance of MLAs, informed the speaker.

Meanwhile, Odisha government’s COVID-19 spokesperson Subroto Bagchi stated that the persons who came in contact with the patient are being traced. Besides, the patient’s wife, daughter, driver are also kept in isolation.

Health & Family welfare, on the other hand, issued guidelines for private hospitals, clinics & doctors in view of Coronavirus Outbreak. Reportedly, the third Covid-19 positive case from Odisha also visited Odisha Assembly dispensary apart from Kar Clinic.

Subroto Bagchi added that the possibility of getting into the 3rd stage of community transmission is being looked into. People who have been on the Indigo flight, Assembly premises, and Kar clinic where the patient was present, are advised to stay under quarantine.
